 The COE office plays a vital role in the  college’s examination system. It operates systematically, adhering strictly to schedule . The office maintains integrity, confidentiality, and transparency . These principles are applied during the conduct of examinations.The Controller of Examinations (COE) office involve managing the entire continuous internal assessment and model examination process, including evaluating, preparing schedules, conducting, processing, and maintaining all related academic records.

         Self-finance college affiliated with Bharathidasan University (BDU), academic affairs are guided by BDU’s regulations, which dictate common syllabi and examinations, while the college handles its day-to-day administrative and academic processes. Rules and Regulations

  • Introduction:

The controller of examination is a key administrative position. Responsibilities include ensuring fair, transparent, and efficient examination conduct. The document outlines the specific rules, procedures, and code of conduct when managing exams. The focus is on examination management.

  • Responsibilities of the Controller of Examinations.
    1. Planning and Scheduling:
      • Prepare the academic calendar for internal
      • Schedule and publish examination timetable in advance
  1. Examination Conduct:
    • Oversee the secure printing, packing, and distribution of question paper.
    • Ensure the appointment and training of maintain the integrity and confidentiality of examination

  • Ensure timely declaration of results and maintenance of

Internal assessment note.

  1. Record Keeping:

Maintain a secure and comprehensive database of results, answer scripts and related documents.

                 Coordinate with department, faculty & administration for smooth execution of exams.

  • Examination Rules for Students:
  1. Eligibility

Only students with requisite attendance & fee clearance are eligibility.

  1. Identification:

Students must carry valid ID cards and admit cards into the exam

hall.

  1. Timeless:

Students are not permitted to enter the hall after 10 minutes

for the CIA and 30 minutes for the university examination.

  1. Malpractice:

Any form of cheating or copying will lead to disciplinary action including disqualification.

  • Rules for Invigilators and Staff:
    1. Punctuality:

Invigilators must report at least 10 minutes before the exam.

  1. Conduct:

Ensure silence, discipline and prevention of malpractice.

  1. Duties:

Verify student identities, distribute papers and monitor conduct.

  1. Reporting Irregularities:

Immediately report any suspicious activity or misconduct.

  • Confidentiality & Security:
    1. Paper security:

Question papers must be stored in a secure access – controlled environment.

  1. Result Confidentiality:

Only authorized personnel should access and handle results.

VI – Disciplinary Actions:

  1. Malpractice by Students:

May result in cancellation of paper, suspension or repulsion.

  1. Tampering or Data Theft:

Treated as a criminal offense with legal consequences.
