ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
- The Department of Microbiology, established in 1995, began with the B.Sc. Microbiology program, admitting 32 students in its first batch. With growing interest and academic demand the department expanded in 1996 by introducing the M.Sc. Microbiology program, offering high-quality professional training for 12 postgraduate students.
- The department is committed to delivering extensive hands-on training, concept-based learning and professionally guided laboratory work. Students are encouraged to participate in innovative research activities—from basic and theoretical studies to applied and laboratory-based projects ensuring they develop strong scientific and analytical skills.
- Under the initiative known as the “Wonderful Invisible Association,” the department conducts various programs, awareness activities and academic events aimed at helping students appreciate the fascinating, often unseen world of microorganisms. These initiatives highlight how invisible life forms profoundly influence ecosystems, industries, human health, and global sustainability.
VISSION
- To become a globally recognized center of excellence that trains the next generation of scientific leaders, expands our knowledge of the microbial worldand conducts fundamental research into solutions for agriculture, human health and environmental sustainability.
