ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

          The Department of Physics came into existence with the establishment of the college in 1987 with a sanctioned strength of 50 students.  The Department of Physics offers Allied courses for Mathematics, Chemistry and offers Applied courses  for Computer Science Students. The department’s dedicated and qualified faculty members are heavily involved in the administration of the institution. Beyond its two well-maintained and regularly upgraded teaching labs, the department provides dedicated research facilities where students can apply physics concepts and develop their innovative and creative skills through hands-on project work. The department emphasizes true understanding over rote memorization. This allows students to apply their knowledge to complex problem-solving, which is a core component of competitive examinations. Beyond scientific knowledge, these activities improve communication, teamwork, critical thinking and public speaking. This directly addresses the need for students to build confidence in presenting their ideas and engaging in discussions, skills that are vital for future careers and higher studies. The department brings experts from premier research institutions to campus, allowing students to learn about the latest trends, technologies and challenges in the field directly from those at the forefront of science.  Guest lectures provide students with insights into real-world applications of their theoretical knowledge, which is crucial for their future careers.
