General Conduct and Discipline
Punctuality and Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at all classes, morning assemblies (prayer), and college events is mandatory. Students absent for six continuous days without valid reason are liable to have their names struck off the rolls.
Identity Cards: Students must wear their college ID cards at all times while on campus for identification.
Prohibited Items/Activities
- Mobile phones should not be used inside the campus without necessity.
- Smoking or other forms of tobacco consumption are not permitted.
- Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited and dealt with severely, including potential dismissal.
- Students must not carry costly gold ornaments.
- No private meetings, parties, or circulation of notices are allowed without the Principal’s prior written permission.
- Students must not engage in political agitation.
- Decorum: Students are expected to be attentive, silent, and maintain decorum in classrooms, meetings, and other gatherings.
- Cleanliness and Property: Students are responsible for keeping classrooms and the college premises neat and clean and must not damage college property or furniture.
- The dress code varies slightly by college/campus.
- Sri Sarada College (KARUR):Girls should wear Salwar Kameez with a V-shaped dupatta pinned on either side of the shoulder.
- Sri Sarada College for Women (KARUR):Students are permitted to wear uniform saree; no other type of dress is permitted.
- Uniforms: Students may be expected to wear a specific college uniform on Tuesday and Friday of each week.
- Special occasions: Students may be wear color sarees on special occasions.
- Leave Applications: Leave of absence must be applied for in advance with explicit reasons and a signature from a parent/guardian.
- Examinations: Students must practice academic honesty during examinations and are not permitted to use any unauthorized aids or communicate with others.
- Minimum Attendance: A minimum of 75% attendance is required to be eligible for examinations.
- Hostel: Hostel students have specific rules regarding timings, visitors, and duties. Mobile phone use is generally prohibited or restricted to specific times with basic models.
- Laboratories: Specific safety guidelines must be followed in laboratories, including wearing protective gear, proper disposal of waste, and reporting damaged equipment.
- Library: Students can borrow a limited number of books for a set duration, with penalties for late returns or damage.
